I really enjoyed playing Ezmore's Crystals. The beginner quests really guided me into learning the game with a fun aspect to it. The control was very beginner based and it was easy and quick to learn.
The gameplay difficulty is evenly divided between skill levels. For my experience playing I picked the Lord mode. This mode was fun and difficult with me dying when fighting goblins twice. The art style brings out the theme a lot. The colors are vibrant and the Medieval style matches with it very nicely. Another thing I enjoyed was the world making. The world is unique, and it reminded me of RuneScape. Although one thing that I noticed was a problem was the movement got buggy and prevented movement when looking at certain angles where the GUI interfered with the cursor. I think that WASD would improve the mechanics and make for a more complex movement system. I would also recommend dodging/parrying where skill and timing is used. Something like that would engage the player to learn how to play the game with skill. Besides the game's mechanics, the story plays well in the world. The story in intriguing and makes the player wonder what is next on the quests. The wide variety of bosses/enemies are a great addition to the leveling system. The leveling system is progressive and scales perfectly with he player and enemies. The player can have an even chance with enemies due to the leveling system.
Overall, the game is a very enjoyable experience with it being very simple and clean. The PC requirements aren't very high with being able to switch the graphics settings before launching. The storyline is interesting and unique. I rate the game a 7.5/10.
I really enjoyed Ezmore’s Crystals. It was a fun Adventure game with a simple yet well executed storyline. I really enjoyed the map design with nice landscaping because I feel it definitely brought the game to life with the livelycolours and smooth animations
<span class="NormalTextRun SCXW100895999 BCX0" <they="" were="" two="" things="" though="" i="" feel="" on="" my="" end="" could="" use="" improvement.="" the="" first="" being="" controls="" how="" you="" move="" your="" <="" span="">There were two thing I feel could be changed or improved on. First being controls and how the character around, using the mouse to me seems a bit odd and I had some issues were id get stuck in patches near the trees because my curser wasn’t able to reach the grass. I believe something like arrow keys or using WASD could be a helpful feature to the game. The second thing was the gates. When I was looking around the map, I had multiple incidents where I accidentally went through gates that I shouldn’t have been able to go through yet. I’m not sure how you’d fix this issue, but I feel it gives off a jumbled or incomplete storyline if you accidently glitch through the gates.</span>
A few things I applaud you for is the incredible job of making the characters come to life from the drawings we created. Being able to see some drawing my younger self, made be in a game is really fascinating giving him his own personality and everything. Another thing that stood out towas the weapons and health potions, I really like the potion idea giving you the opportunity to play further in the game.
<span class="NormalTextRun SCXW39278343 BCX0" <the="" main="" menu="" had="" <="" span="">The mains menu had an amazing and simple design having the feature for newer or less experienced players to be able to play on an easier mode to let them learn and get to know the game better.</span>
I enjoyed the simple, yet effective sound affects chosen for the game from the fighting and battles sound to picking up a loot bag. There were so many fun features to play around with, and I really enjoyed the game 4/5
I personally enjoyed the Ezmore’s Crystals a lot. It was a fun open-world game in a world of Lego, and there were many quests that gave you things that weren’t part of the main storyline.
I think that the games controls were quite simple, and most of the movement and combat system is mouse-based. While this isn’t as complicated or skill-based as many would like, there is a skill-based aspect in the preparation for a fight, that is deciding what combination of armor and weapon to bring to a fight, and whether to use a ranged weapon for a certain boss or try to go in and tank its attacks while attacking it with a melee weapon. But there are some aspects of using the mouse to move that I think should be fixed, or at least changed. There is a feature on the map where if you left click somewhere on the map, it creates a large orange thing on the map. But it is also shown in the game, and if you get too close to it you can’t move because of the clicking-based movement system. But besides that, the movement has remained quite smooth.
I think the ambient music and the sound effects of all the enemies mix near-perfectly, and I liked the familiarity of some of the sounds. I found the graphics of the game to be quite good as well, and I really liked the way that the Lego characters were mixed with different, non-Lego graphics. I also really liked the goblin king, partially because the hobbit is great and partially because of the different in graphics between him and the character I was playing.
I personally enjoyed this game a lot, but it does have some small, fixable, bugs. 4/5 stars.
Ezmore's Crystal is a beautiful action-fantasy open world RPG game using Lego-like designs for the characters. The game provides fun quests to complete, and you are never safe, there is always the risk of getting attacked by the many creatures that populate, Lagosland.
One thing I can appreciate about this game is the beautiful soundtrack. The music is very catchy and peaceful and fits in with the medieval them present in Ezmore's Crystals. Another thing I appreciate about this game is the vast number of weapons, armour and bracers. This game really motivates me to obtain the greatest weapon, armour e.t.c. Thegraphics are very good, given that this game was created by a small group of people. Though this game is not perfect, there are many bugs that plague this game. One notable case is when you get stuck against a solid object, I also wish that there were other methods of moving, as using the cursor to move is very inconvenient, also, most people are more used to other methods of moving, such as using the WASD keys, or the arrow keys. And lastly fighting is boring as you just click the mouse and just wait until your enemy has fallen, there may be a bit of clicking the 6 and 7 buttons to drink a potion but that's it. I wish the fighting was more interactive by fighting by clicking and having to aim accurately.
In conclusion this game is very fun but has some moderate issues. I rate this a 7/10.
Ezmore's Crystals is a fun packed RPG game. The graphics are neat, and the gameplay is simple yet, engaging. The story throughout the game is well written and connects to the main goal. The lowest difficulty setting is nice and easy to allow the player to learn the basics
However, within the game lies some issues that can get in the way of the fun. A notable bug I know as "Gate Glitching" allows you to clip through locked areas without having accessed them through quests. Attempting to reach a late game area early is no walk in the park. The enemies will have ridiculous strength and will beat you down in seconds without the use of many health potions. There's also a lack of a changeable camera angle outside of cutscenes sometimes biting you in the back as the game uses the "click to location" movement system rather than using the arrow keys or WASD. This means that if your camera gets trapped behind a big unreachable object, you'll be rendered immobile because you can't click to a location where your character can escape. These bugs along with some other minor issues can get in your way, but thankfully these are rare occasions that you'll probably not encounter.
Overall, this game is quite fun and maybe even a bit addicting to go back and play on the hardest mode. I'd rate this a 7/10
'Ezmore's crystals' is a fun action-packed RPG fantasy game. The characters are cute, 3D, and Lego-like. They are well designed and you can easily differentiate the good guys from the bad guys. The graphics are simple, clean, and appealing. The story is interesting, well written and easy to understand. The layout is nice and effective for gameplay. The animation is smooth. Lastly, the music is fun and mystical and gives mood and scene to the game.
Generally, I enjoyed the game. I really liked fighting the bad guys. It reminded me of a game I used to play when I was younger called 'Dragon Mania Legends'. However, there were a few issues. When I would press the enemy to attack, sometimes it would make me run over them. Another thing I didn't like was how you only have one life. It made me frustrated to start all over again. I feel like giving the character 3 lives would improve the game.
Overall, I give this game a 7/10 because I enjoyed playing it but there are a few things I would change.
Ezmore’s Crystals is a fun adventurous adrenaline packed RPG game. It involves Lego pieces that serve as the sprites. The graphics are fantastic in quality, clearly pointing out the ugliness of certain bosses like the goblin king which looks more like an abomination.
Unfortunately, there are a few outstanding issues. First is the camera angle, since the angle is fixed when you want to move around some obstacles you are unable to see where you are going causing some major issues. This problem is even worse when you either are fighting a boss or you are stuck and unable to change your angle, making you mustquit or restart.
Secondly, we have movement. When moving in this game you are supposed to click on an empty place which makes your character move to that place. Now the underlying issues are when you get stuck since there are no WASD/arrow keys and the camera angle is fixed you cannot move thus causing you to just sit there for the rest of entirety. I would like to see WASD keys instead of the click to move.
Finally, there is an onslaught of bugs like the double xp, infinite potion farming etc.
Overall, it is a cool game. 7/10 Due to the bosses (especially the final boss) being fun to beat.
Ezmore's crystal is a very fun game with a lego style including the adventure RPG role in this game. The graphics are very clean with the lighting having a clean bloom role into it, the movements & animations are very clean and it doesn't bug, that much.
Furthermore, the camera angle does bug out sometimes like I am walking and I can't see my character if I'm in a forest environment because the game clings onto the tree view and it makes the fov higher so I can't see anything.
The movement I did say was clean, but there are times when I hold click and the character doesn't seem to move which means I'm stuck in place and goblins can defeat me.
I would like to see a settings tab where you can change your key binds to make it more suitable for gamers who like to use WASD or arrow keys.
Also, the fighting style in this game is not the best, from my experience you have to basically stand in place and fight them without moving around, I would like to see a fix to that.
I do have to give some bonus marks to the UI aka the main menu though since it looks very clean with the background fitting the game, the character just standing there, and the buttons on the side so you can see more of the environment which is exquisite.
However though, the UI in the actual game when you press I am not the best, I would say it's alright at best since you put where all the stuff you equip in one column, I would say make it separated but not a bunch of buttons, but make the buttons pop out more instead of a jumbled mess.
Overall, a well-rounded lego RPG game with a mess that needs to be fixed, 6/10.
I enjoyed playing through this adventurous Lego RPG game. This game is very well made, all the mechanics, movements and animations are well done, especially the effects. However there are some bugs and glitches as expected and I wished you could move the camera angle since it’s stuck in one spot and it’s hard to see and you can't click on the road to move the character when the camera goes into a wall or tree. I like the pretty challenging bosses and the items they give me. It feels awarding when you get to open a chest to get a special item or potions to heal yourself and upgrade yourself after defeating the bosses. All the sound tracks and dialogues immersed me even more into the game. The big open world where you have to find locations to quest and places makes it even better. Overall I can tell this game has a lot of effort put into to make this awesome game.
I give this game a 5/10 due to the bugs and glitches.
Ezmore's Crystals is a great, fast paced adventure RPG. The world is very large and there are lots of areas to explore and find items. The Lego style aspect in the game gives it a lot of it's charm but the movement is quite flawed. For example, when your camera gets blocked by a tree while you are click to moving, the character becomes stuck and you cannot move because you cannot click anywhere to move. I think that a WASD-based movement would be better for this type of game, with an auto-lock on enemy system. When I killed the Cyclops, I had not gotten the quest to kill the Cyclops beforehand, therefore bugging the quest and making the witch NPC practically useless. The witch's GUI would be covered by the map anyways, essentially making her even more useless. To this day, I still don't know what she does because I cannot see the title of the shop or whatever.
The combat in this game is very basic and simple. Very easy to understand and learn compared to other games such as Elden Ring or Dark Souls. The combat in those games focus on more player interactivity, where as in this game the most player activity you'll get is to drink potions and move around to kill the enemy. The combat in this game is more of a stat-check to see if your equipment is good enough, or just spamming potions every second to save yourself from dying. I believe that the combat is very simple, but I guess it gives some of the charm of it, but some more aspects of combat such as parrying or dodging could make it better.
An aspect of the combat system are spells. You can unlock spells by increasing your max mana to the point where you can use the spell, albeit it takes all of your mana. During my playthrough, I only managed to get 3 spells. A critical attack spell, a healing spell and a stunning spell. I believe the spells should be acquired differently, such as finding tomes in dungeons to learn spells from or finding the spells inside of Ezmore's or Ezmerela's Tower.
The bosses in Ezmore's Crystals are quite intense, because you need to keep a close watch on your health bar and potions to know if you have enough health to beat the boss, but you also need to keep a close watch on the boss, which is usually accompanied by a few archers while do light damage to you, but the damage adds up over time along with the bosses heavy damage which will eventually kill you if you do not consume a potion.
The potion system seems to be very similar to Dark-Souls type games, but the obtainment of the said potions are very tedious and time consuming. I did, however find a bug in the game which allowed me to "duplicate" potions for my own use, as well as killing enemies forever, even if I died in a dungeon, while stilling getting their potions on the floor. The bug was that if you killed an enemy in a dungeon and you exited the dungeon, the enemy would die forever and would never spawn again. This same bug sort of ruined the Cyclops Killer questline for me because I lost the eye he dropped and he would never respawned because I exited out of the forest.
The weapons in the game are very confusing because they get overshadowed by the weapons that Ezmore gives us such as the sword that he gives us after saving him, and the staff that he gives us in the end that is very powerful. It doesn't help that when you level up, all of the weapons in the game gets a damage boost, making it very confusing to choose weapons. The matter of weapon speed is there too, but the weapons that actually have slow speed do not do enough damage to make up for it. For example, the axe weapon does about 30 damage at a moderate level and hitting at slower speeds. The sword that Ezmore gives you does 40 damage and attacks very fast. Which one would you choose? The open world aspect of the game is very overshadowed by the main questline because it allows you to get amazing loot from the dungeons and progress through the game more quickly.
Overall, the game is very simple, and the content added is very fun. There are lots of flaws, but the game is very good still with its simplistic theme and gameplay. I believe the combat could be better, along with potion gathering as the combat is not very skill based by itself. I do enjoy the bosses as they are very intense to fight, but they usually get killed very easily. There are lots of bugs, but they are not particularity game breaking, while some are.
Ezmore's crystal is a fun game to play when you are alone and bored. There are many levels, the hard, normal and the medium, it is named different like peasant, knight and lord which is an interesting way to name the levels. The sprites and the characters are nice and killing the goblins to move forward and different goblins with different weapons is fun. But I think that there are some minor things not major minor such as – I think that if the movement of the character had been done using the keyboard it would have been much better because sometimes you don’t know what to do because you are stuck. Using the mouse for hitting the monsters or the goblins is a great idea. It also lags a bit, not too much but sometimes it can be annoying. Also, I think that if we can move freely without going to the red dressed girl it would have been better because you always must go back to her because she will give you different tasks and she constantly talks to you and get into a loop, and you cannot get out of it, and you must talk to them to move on. The sound effects and the constant background music keep you engaged in the game, which also makes it interesting. The tutorials are also helpful when you are just starting to play, and it is given by the red dressed girl which is also a good way to give instruction and tutorial. Overall, the game is well made, good and fun to play.
I like how this is game is quite simple and easy to understand. Your able to have fun while playing, but still comprehend the rules and abide by them. Overall, I thought the game was well designed however, sometimes my sprite would get stuck, and I couldn’t move forward. There were a few minor lags, but besides that, I felt there was a lot of freedom in this game and the objective of defeating the goblins was good. The different avatars or sprites had a nice design that was fitting to the overall idea and theme of the game. The sound in Ezmore’s Crystals was very well done. The music and sound effects went along with the game play and really helped to move the story along. Although it was a straightforward game and story, the sound added a level of enjoyment and excitement while playing. It was also consistent and accurate throughout. The layout is also great. There are different types of weapons and armor choices, things you can use to kill the goblins.
The main setup is very helpful. There are tutorials available for beginners, and an instructions video that you can choose to watch, before the game starts. It really makes sure you know how to play and will do well once you enter the actual game. Once you start playing, you won’t need these videos anymore, as you can get the hang of it quickly. There are also different levels, so as you get better, you can move up in ranking and choose to make the game harder. You’ll start off as a peasant and the final level is a lord, where your given more enemies/villains to fight. The controls for this game are the different keys on your keyboard. To move each way, the arrow keys might’ve been useful, but it was still a good design. I enjoyed playing Ezmore’s Crystals and would take part in another game, possibly at a higher level.
I found Ezmore’s Crystals a very interactive and immersive game with a relatively compelling storyline. I thought that the response options when talking to NPCs were remarkably diverse. It could have been so much easier to put normal dialog options but by going the extra mile made the game much more fun and engaging. Also, I do appreciate that the option to skip the start was added for those who do not care about the story or for those replaying the game. The environment was amazing as well. There is always something to value like the distinct colors of grass or the incredibly detailed buildings. Although the buildings were not made from Lego, they still felt like they fit in with all the Lego aspects which I admire. Even easter eggs like The Creator being Mr. Schoenhal’s portrait.
However, there<span class="NormalTextRun SCXW137626202 BCX0" <that="" being="" said="" there<="" span=""> were a few apparent bugs and exploits. When talking to NPCs the player character could still be attacked by enemies. This was not a big deal because it was still possible to kill the enemies, but it was just an inconvenience. Moreover, with all the effort put into the environment there were still a couple flaws. In Studsville there was a wooden fence that was possible to walk through and the black fences that required a key were easy to bypass as well. If you let your player constantly run into the black gates, the player will eventually pop through it. Finally, although it is not a game breaking issue, for some of the players the crystals would not show up on the thing that holds the crystals.</span>
With all this being said, I rate this game an 7.823 out of 10
Ezmore’s crystals is a charming RPG with Lego elements but has some glaring flaws. For the positives I really enjoyed how intuitive the quest system is, I rarely got lost and everything led into each other. I also liked how charismatic the dialogue was but the text boxes could get in the way sometimes and were a bit hard to read. Another positive is the battle system. on the surface it looks like point and click and then you attack but you also must use some resource management in some bigger fights with your mana and spells. The character customization is also a massive feature that I think was implemented very well here. Through out your adventure you are given clothing/armor from drops, but you can buy better and stronger items in the central town of Studsville. There are also plenty of Easter eggs if you go out of the way such as the creator and some gear along a shoreline.
Now for some of the exploits and things that could have been better. The biggest exploit that is readily available would be the sequence breaks. Throughout the map there are black gates that lead to the bosses. If you click on the other side of the gate your character will get stuck on the gate and clip through thus allowing you to defeat a late game boss to early. This can lead to you not being able to finish the game which is what happened to me in my first playthrough. Another thing that I noticed was how if I completed a quest with my inventory full you would not receive the reward. A simple fix would be to just let the reward fall on the ground but instead it just gets lost forever. The inventory was very easy to use but items would sometimes drop when I didn’t want them to. One of my biggest complaints would have to be how the trees and environment block your movement. Because you must point and click to move the trees can block the clickable terrain and have left me to die on multiple occasions. I think a way to fix this would be to implement a choice between mouse and WASD to move.
In the end it has a great art style, very easy to learn, but has some big exploits so I would give it a solid 6/10 overall.
Ezmore’s crystals is a PC and desktop game that is very complicating and simple at the same time. Here are some examples of why I think this.
Controls is an example because in order to move the character, you must click the mouse and you can’t make the character mover faster with any of the keys on the keyboard and adding a speed key would be helpful because you can’t outrun the goblins that are trying to kill you. The trees that are shown as props interfere with the characters movement as well. Attacking, the speed is slow and fixed, and you can’t make the hitting any faster, for example if you were to spam click the right mouse button the attacking would only go at a pace that the game creators set the speed to. You can’t change the mini map with the + and – keys on the keyboard, and only with the + and – signs shown next to the mini map that you must physically click with the mouse. You can’t manually move/change the camera angles with the mouse. When talking to the NPC at the start of the game, the text that is shown in the text box is very small and is hard to read. The NPC dialogue options are limited. You can’t skip the dialogue when the NPCs are talking. You must wait for them to finish before you chose your answer. Somethings I noticed about the game that I thought were good, was that the fighting/combat is easy and simple to learn and use but could use some work, like the speed, etc. The game runs smooth but is laggy here and there, but you can’t really notice it. The equipment slots next to the inventory is very useful because in allows you to see what your character looks like, and you can add different items without the game personally doing it for you. Overall, I would give this game a 4/10
'Ezmores Crystals' is an adventure pact game filled with a diverse number of NPCs and quests. The game introduces a large and enchanting world to the player. With a complete story line and many quests, the story doesn’t fail to stimulate the player. While the game excels in specific areas, it does lack in others. Overall, I enjoyed the game. At times, I did feel that there was an air of receptiveness to it, but the storyline does make up for it. To begin, it’s important to address the gameplay of Ezmores Crystals. To move, you must click anywhere on the screen to reach your destination. At first, I thought this mechanic was good because it adds to the ease of gameplay. However, the clicking repeatedly does get tiring and tedious. I liked how the game provides the player with a large inventory to keep items, weapons, armor, etc. I enjoyed the fighting aspect of the game but there is little strategy when battling monsters. As you hit them, they hit you back and it’s difficult to dodge. If the player tries to run away, the monsters will chase you forever as more monsters come to join the chase. A very sad ending indeed. The games graphics are set in a forest and all the characters are Lego figures. I liked how the avatar and each NPC was made from Lego as it gave me a nostalgic feeling. I thought the soundtrack was very well done. The monsters and players had unique sounds that didn’t fail to make me laugh. The adventurous soundtrack added nicely to the atmosphere of the game. Sometimes the trees and the rocks tend to get in the players view of the character. There were some bugs that occurred mid dialogue with NPCs, but it wasn’t a significant problem. To conclude, 'Ezmores Crystals' was a simple and fun game filled with funny NPCs and entertaining quests. The graphics are nice, and the soundtrack complements the game beautifully.
Ezmore’s Crystals is a game with linear progression, disguised as an open world. It has limited dialogue trees and a forced order of quests. But it’s not all bad. To an RPG fan, this would be very enjoyable, and easy to understand. Although, to someone not accustomed to the typical controls of an RPG, it may be confusing. The controls of the game are not explained, so the player is responsible with discovering its odd point-and-click nature. Also, Ezmore’s Crystals has clearly not been very well bug tested or optimized, as foliage can block the mouse, halting navigation. And forested areas will cause extreme frame drops, even on the lowest visual setting. Regarding NPCs, as stated, dialogue trees can be limited, and text is extremely small and hard to read on larger screens. Not to mention how dialogue scenes cannot be skipped.
But to complement the game, the soundtrack is very fitting and improves the ambiance greatly. Also, the inventory system is self-explanatory and easy to use. The drag and drop interface enhances the experience, although the lack of stat numbers on items makes improving one’s equipment difficult
Overall, this game deserves a 4/10. Slightly below average due to number of bugs, quality of life issues, and optimizations that could be easily fixed.
Ezmore's Crystals is a cool game with some pros and some cons. Starting off with the pros I really loved the challenge the game proved when played on the hardest difficulty I was constantly dying and had to keep innovating in order to beat the enemies and progress in the game. The environment is also beautiful, and it matches the Lego characters because of its simplistic look. I also liked how you could choose dialogue options when talking to characters. It made you more immersed in the game since the characters have different responses depending on what dialogue option you chose. I also liked the Hud it was very simplistic and out of the way, so it didn’t block your view at all, and the inventory was very easy to understand and use. The graphics were also very simple and charming since everyone knows what Lego characters are. Now we move onto the cons of the game. The first thing I noted that I didn’t really like about the game is how the character moves with mouse movements instead of the wasd or arrow keys movement I’m used to. Also, the map was very confusing for me. I was constantly lost due to the symbols on the map I didn’t understand. One of the times I got lost is when you look for the big tower to save someone. A character tells you to go up the hill, open the gate and then go into the tower. Seems simple right? The problem was that there were 3 different hills with gates, so I was lost for 5-7 minutes trying to find the right gate. The map would be easier to understand if the symbols on the map were explained better. In conclusion Ezmore’s crystal was a fun game that I enjoyed playing despite its many flaws.
I would rate this game a solid 8/10 the graphics and combat in the game are fun but the confusing map prevents it from being rated higher.
This game is just very ok. It’s impressive for a one-man team although it shows a new extent for its creator’s lego obsession. The HUD is serviceable although I didn’t even notice the fact that your current quest is displayed in the top right. Not all the assets used match and they can look very out of place, especially most of the long grass and foliage assets I saw. The dialog text is very small for the text box and hard to read, making it so I got lost multiple times. The gameplay is alright, I didn’t get very far before completely losing interest and not really wanting to play anymore, so it might have gotten better but just clicking around to move and then clicking on your enemy and just watching them fight isn’t my kind of fun. Finally the way the difficulty choices is presented are very confusing, its backwards from how most games have it (Easy, Medium, Hard. This game orders it Hard, Medium, Easy) and on top of this the titles aren’t exactly clear. King to me sounds like it should be easy, as it implies lots of aid and wealth, and peasant sounds like the hardest as it implies less aid and luxuries.
Also, this game promotes violence against goblins. Not cool.
Ezmore’s Crystals is a game you can play that gives you the same experience as Diablo or other top view clicking games. This time, it’s got a Lego twist to it, with Lego weapons and cosmetics. But other than that, the environment has this low polygonal look to it, and the game has fancy lighting. It has dynamic shadows and lighting, and well lit enough to make it feel like you’re either outside or inside. Not only does this factor help with immersion, but just the quests overall just give you a reason to play a game and go out an explore. Quests are quirky, with interesting characters. And I like how you, the player has this rebellious dialogue where every quest feels like a chore, and you’re mad that you got the responsibility dumped on you.
The level design and scene building are amazing and actually keeps you immersed and has this sense of life to it. All objects are welly placed and designed, and it makes caves feel like actual caves, and creepy forests, well… creepy.
Progression in this game is easily noticeable and when you level up and steamroll a goblin that was destroying you, it feels good and satisfying, it makes you want to keep going. A wide variety of items and customization is very nice as well.
However, sometimes pathfinding is difficult, and some trees or houses could get in the way of you clicking. It would be nice to make objects that interfere with the sightline of your character to just turn transparent and make it see through.
The only problem that could be just our computers, but the game doesn’t really feel welly optimized. Usually, maps are rendered out fully for the player to play in, and that’s why you can tell things run smoother on Studsvile, because it’s quite a small map with not many things to render. If you could make the parts of the map not render when you’re not in that area, that would help a ton. This could ruin the mini-map function, but to be completely honest, I’m not a big fan of mini-maps to begin with. I feel like they just dampen immersion or the need to explore because on that map you can see where you’re going and need to go.
The UI does feel like it works against me sometimes, operating with the inventory feels tight and restricted, there isn’t any item descriptions when you’re buying things, so you don’t know what damage/protection you’re getting out of it, and sometimes it overlaps over each other completely.
Other than that, this game nails the cutscenes and make you feel like you’re not fighting a lowly minion, but a king or someone of high power. The last comment I can give is sound design, the soundtrack is awesome, and it isn’t annoying to listen to all the time, and the sound effects are funny and crisp. I think it’s genuinely a fun game, and the fact it was all developed by one person means a lot, knowing that if a game like this was put into more talented companies and hands, it could make one of the best Lego games out there.
Feeling a strong 8/10 for this one. A game with a lot of thought and effort into it, just has some minor issues that can be fixed.
Generally, the game is fun to play through. The graphics of Legos are good and fit the story, the gameplay has a good amount of game mechanics such as the armor, weapon types, and mana. As well as a strong story line. A place to improve is characters and objects clipping, especially in the first cut scene at the start of the game, there were a lot of overlapping of the characters and their weapons. There are also many problems with talking to NPCs. An example is, being able to move and do other actions while talking to an NPC. It does not really make sense being able to fight goblins far away while still in the dialogue of the NPC. The box for the dialogues are at a reasonable size, except the font size of the words are really small making it difficult to read as well as the words not filling up the box in most dialogues. Lastly, for players that are not interested in the storyline the dialogue is difficult to skip because when you try to skip the dialogue you often cancel the dialogue having to talk to the NPC from the start. In conclusion the game has many aspects it can change to be better, but it is still enjoyable to play if you like open world RPGs
Ezmore’s Crystals is an overall strong game. It features a large story with constant action to be had.
Playability was decent. The controls are the mouse and a few keyboard buttons. I personally hate just using mouse, but for this game it probably works best. There were some minor bugs, but I never noticed anything major. The game isn’t hard but can be really frustrating as once a goblin sees you, you have to kill it. So, if you have hardly any health left, you have to still kill the goblin. You cannot outrun it. Most games let you outrun enemies. Another thing I noticed was that even while using a bow, if I clicked on an enemy, I’d run up to them to shoot from close range, it defeats the whole purpose of a bow. 2/5
Sound was very strong. Ezmore’s Crystals featured a very compelling soundtrack and had constant music in the background. The sound effects were good too. Overall, very strong. 4/5
The graphics were decent. The main problem with the graphics was how similar they are to other games. I get it, its Lego. But the game just looked like every other Lego game which didn’t make it anything interesting. I think a good way to improve the graphics would be to add extra effects to it, like shadows, depth of field, motion blur, sun rays, etc. I found the text bubbles when talking to someone were very clustered and difficult to follow. They used 1 single text box for the entire conversation and would make the text super small, so it fit, then choosing what to reply with was sometimes difficult. 2/5
The entire concept was not bad. As mentioned before, it felt so unoriginal since I find all Lego games to be the same. It felt so similar. That’s not to say it wasn’t a good concept/story. It still had an original story and title. It was pretty strong. The NPCs were kind of weak though. They didn’t really feel like actual people, rather mindless zombies ordering you on tasks that you have no clue what you’re doing. 2/5
Overall, Ezmore’s Crystals was a fairly strong game. It isn’t the most compelling game out there but is way better than a lot of other games. There is definitely room to improve. Mainly the text bubbles and the HUD (the tiny text in the corner telling you where to go wasn’t the best). Ezmore’s Crystals is a pretty solid game and just as good if not even better than most other similar Lego games. I’d give it a 5/10
Overall this game was really good. The music is sweet and pleasant. The dialogues were funny and have humor. The graphics and the designs were sophisticated and beautiful. It is smooth and runs very well. The plot and the instructions are easy to understand. I was able to track my health and my tasks. But some parts that could have been added were the control keys like using W,A,S,D and the speed could have also been a little increased. There also could have been options to customize the character and make them look the way we want. But overall the game deserves a 8/10.
While the images are simple, they are quite clear and run smoothly. The game's attractiveness and feel are enhanced by its block and lego-like appearance. The sound enhances the game's overall experience. It immerses you in the game's universe and setting, as well as selling some of the game's harm and attacks. The HUD is simple to understand, and the majority of the pop-up menus are straightforward. I believe the map graphic should be improved. Because the map does not clearly show where I need to go or where particular sections are, it can be perplexing at times. I think using a WASD as the main controls would have been easier to play.
The graphics were smooth and so as the movements. I like how the woman way slowly going through the game. The motion was smooth, and the map made us easier to figure out where we are supposed to go and where we are right now. The story interdiction was very nicely written, and I love how the game had 3 levels. Also, the song was really relaxing to listen to and fit the theme of the game very well. Controls are also extremely easy. So, everyone could play this game right away if they finish the tutorials. Such a good game! I would like to make a game like that if I learn more skills! 10/10 fs!!!
While it is simplistic, the graphics are very clear and run smoothly. The fact that it looks very block and lego-like adds to the charm and feel of the game. The sound really helps the experience of the game. It immerses you in the world and environment the game portrays, and it helps sell some of the damage and attacks. The HUD is very easy to understand, and most of the pop up menus are fairly simple. I think the map graphic could work better. It is sometimes confusing as to where I need to go or where certain areas are as it is not clearly stated on the map. I think using a WASD as the main controls would have been easier to play. Using the mouse works but the WASD controls would work smoother in my opinion. You could also use arrow keys instead.
I think giving the option to have different responses to characters is interesting and cool, but could have been used in a more effective way. No matter what response you choose, it doesn’t seem to impact the gameplay or the other characters response in any significant way. I think it would be cool if each response you chose had a different impact on the story. Nothing major, but if it influenced other characters and how they acted, it would make the gameplay more fun, and if the story changed depending on your response, it would give the game some extra replay-ability. I also think that the game would be a bit more fun if there were checkpoints that you could respawn at. Whenever I make it far in the game then eventually die, I get discouraged from playing again because I know it will take me a while to get back to where I was. So I think having some checkpoints along the way would help make it more fun for the player.
Overall, the game Ezmore’s Crystals was fun to play. I really enjoyed exploring secret places. The world of Lagosland is well designed. The lego characters fit well in the realistic background. Also, I like that you can play as a lord, knight, or peasant. The movements of the characters and nature are great. The sound fits to the theme and to the story. But I think the music could be a bit more various. There is another point I dislike: I don’t like that you can’t get a second chance when you died or that you can’t start from the point where you died and that you have to start from the beginning. On the other hand I like that you can achieve many levels. In my opinion, I think that the mouse click to control and move the character was quite hard to get used to. So, I would suggest changing it to keys to control the character. Additionally, I like that you can personalize your character.
Overall, in this game it would be enjoyable for an audience that like RPG types of games. The HUD in the game was a very nice layout because I could see my health, I could see me powerup, and I could see what I could hold in my hand. Since the sprite is flat, the character can move up, down, left and right. The background art is kind of realistic but it look more like clay or playdough which is not bad. The character itself it a lego person and I say it fits well in the game. the game tutorial at the start really flows into the game it self and gives you a nice intro so your not completely lost.
I think that maybe instead of using a mouse click it would have been helpful just using the key W, A, S, D. I feel that as soon as you die when you go to the spawn point in the beginning of the next zone. Because of this I feel like every time you die from the enemies they come closer and closer to your spawn and the just puppy guard you.
Overall, this game Ezmore's crystals was quite enjoyable, and it is my type of game which is an open world RPG. This game ran smoothly and the characters' appearance were charming. But there's some points I disliked. I was not the big fan of the click move so I felt the movements control was quite hard to getting used to so I feel like the controls could be a little bit more sophisticated if you allow Keys to control your character. Also I got a little motion sickness because the screen is shaking while I'm moving the character. I dislike the part when an enemy attack the character while I was talking with the NPC character I can't fight back. but in conclusion the structure of this game was interesting, and I think it could be easily enjoyed by first-time plyers because of the tutorial provided at the beginning of the game. I felt that it was a game worth to play.
Ezmore's Crystals has a variety of elements to explore throughout the gameplay, and the more you play, the more you uncover the story. This game is a 3D game and the type of game would be an RPG, and seems to have a medieval genre to it, giving the vibe of a classic RPG even more. This game has the main character (you) complete tasks for others in order to progress in the story, and there are three difficulties to choose from, for newer players there is a "Peasant" difficulty and for the more experienced players there is a "Lord" difficulty to test their skill. I had the joy of playing the lord difficulty and it didn't feel much different than the peasant difficulty, the game really rewards the player for following the tasks and doing what they're told and give you all the necessities you need to survive and continue the game, such as potions to heal you and weapons to help you in combat. The game's head's up display has a hotbar at the bottom showing the player's items they're holding for quick access, such as potions or weapons they would want to switch to. There is also a health meter in the shape of a circle on the left of the hotbar to show the player how close they are to dying, so they can use a potion when necessary, and to the right of the hotbar the player can find their mana meter which is also in the shape of the circle. In terms of graphics, that is where the game is lacking. There isn't too much visual detail to the game as it is inspired by a lego game, but there is more visual detail the game could've had to give me a better sense of the world and land, rather than basic shapes that just barely help me understand.
Some sprites in the game tend to have unpredictable movement, such as buckethead and the monsters, but sprites like NPCs who ask for quests and tasks to be done don't have as much movement, close to none. Some of the sprites in the game don't really give the player the sense that they're alive, but rather just a sign telling the player to complete tasks, so one thing the game could improve on is building the characters and giving them a sense of life. The game does a good job at addressing everything in it's interface, so things that the player is able to interact with, even much so by having marks on the screen to show when the player is able to interact with certain things. As for obstacles in the game, there are locked doors that stop the player from progressing without following the game's story and that helps the player focus on what they need to get done in the game, rather than wandering off. The enemies in the game also serve as obstacles that stop the player from continuing their journey without having to fight them, they can drop money and sometimes even weapons and other tools to help defeat those obstacles easier. Overall, I would say that the game has much to improve on in terms of give the sense of the player sinking into the game, and to really get the player engaged with the story. In terms of basic game elements the game does a good job of implementing them, but could've gone above and beyond.
Ezmore’s Castle has some cool and enjoyable aspects, but in general I played better and more complete games and especially RPGs. The game starts with your character arriving in the open map of the game, but you can directly see in the first interaction with the NPCs and the quest and task system, that there are still some flaws. First if you completed a quest there is not really anything, that gives you feedback that you completed a quest. One time I also had the problem, that I was stuck in the quest menu and could not leave the game or the conversation with the NPC. Except the quest system and the missing feedback, I also disliked the movement and fighting system, they are not interesting and your options while fighting are few. You cannot do anything else, except clicking on the enemy and hoping that you have enough health to defeat him. For the movement system I would recommend using the arrows to direct and move into the directions. The map can be traveled freely and there are a lot of different areas to discover, but it would be cool to have a different type of area like are desert or something like that. The story of Ezmore’s Castle is very confusing for me, because I haven’t gotten any clue of, I till the end of the game.
What I liked on the Game is the user interface, because it is clear and the map as well as the skill and health and mana bar are in a good design and easy to find. The inventory is also clear, and the weapon and gear system is good and visual. Like the quest I wished there would be more feedback wile you collect loot, but that is a minor remark. The loot system and the different items are one of the strongest points of the game and it is enjoyable to collect them and see them in your inventory. The Character looks pretty cool after a while, with all the gear and stuff you collected.
Because of that, I would probably rate the game as a 4/10.
Ezmores Crystals is an RPG game where the goal is to move around a world and collect crystals. The game includes a fun storyline and good combat. It was hard to understand the game at first, but the tutorial was really helpful in learning all the controls. The graphics were not too bad, and the voice acting made the game interesting, and the dialogue made the game funnier, especially the things that the character could say.
A few things I noticed about the game is that in the map feature, the zoom in and zoom out buttons seemed to be switched. Also, the moving controls were difficult to use, and it was easy to get stuck in little corners and narrow spaces. When I click on a monster in order to fight it, it also makes my character run over to it, which defeats the purpose of a long-distance weapon. Another thing is about the dialogue text. It is very small, therefore making it difficult to read. A feature concerning dialogue that I think might be helpful to add is a button that can show the finished sentences faster. It takes a long time for all the text to show, especially since it's easy to die in the beginning, and then having to repeat all the tasks and dialogue prior, it might be helpful to be able to skip through it. Overall, it was a fun and challenging game that I enjoyed.
My overall opinion on this game was very positive. The games intro tutorial is well blended with the story and not thrown in. I was able to find a secret area early game and get a large amount of loot which helped me get past the early areas. The towns are very well designed and same with the character models. The optional quests are a nice touch. I didn’t get to far into the story, but it seems well made.
Onto the negatives. Some NPC characters would constantly talk, and you could not get out of the loop. You can get spawn trapped between load zones if you die too much and be at such low health that if an enemy is standing at the spawn point it will kill you instantly and soft lock you.
I personally thought that this game was actually quite unique and genuinely enjoyable. First of all, the game had quite a diverse loot-pool, not as bland as something like Minecraft where you can basically only get re-textures of the same sword and not as chaotic and confusing like Terraria where you can use a toxic dead fish to shoot missiles out of your eyes. The loot-pool has many weapons but they all match a certain theme and although some games are fun just because of how random they are I feel like the selection of realistic medieval weaponry and armor was a good game-design choice for Ezmore's Crystals.
Second: Difficulty, I personally thought that the difficulty was EXTREMELY well balanced, as a game developer myself who likes difficult games and finds himself constantly accidently making games 100 times more difficult than any biological human apart from the person who playtests the games for hours (me) could adapt to I was really impressed, the difficulty curve is very smooth yet still makes you struggle, AND you hardly ever feel like it is 100% your fault that you died.
Lastly I found that the map was very diverse and I was able to find little points of interest in every little corner on the map, and I was never disappointed.
Now the negatives, I have 2 main complaints: Visuals and controls.
The Lego style was very nice, BUT I personally thought that due to the lack of any sort of post processing (bloom, motion blur, color correction) the game interface just didn't feel good to interact with, I also found the lack of responsiveness also quite unpleasant, it is hard to feel like damaging impact of a hit, or the strength of a strong enemy, because this game lacks any sort of "juiciness", when I get a powerful blow on an enemy, make the screen shake! make him fly back with a trail of particles! when I get hit, make my screen flash red! make my health bar flash! this isn't very important but I find things like that really make a game go from immature project to steam release.
The problem with controls is quite simple and it's probably only a nuisance for some people, the fact that you walk around by left-clicking and not WASD, and to make it worse and you attack by left-clicking too! I understand where the developer got the inspiration though so I won't judge too much.
Overall, its quite an enjoyable experience: Fun character interactions, interesting map, and constant new things to do 7.5/10.
Overall, this game was moderately enjoyable, but the game is directed at younger audience because it was very simple, the story was easy to understand I the dialog was easy to understand could imaging me playing this when I was seven though it was a bit too hard but I do believe that it could easily be fixed by adding light and heavy attacks or adding a dodge action to the game to make combat more interactive for the players.
In my playthrough I did not get very far. I had lots of fun playing it I got to the part in the caves though I was very under leveled. A tip for new players is to do what the side quest when ever you can so then you can get a lot of loot for the main story.
While the games description in the download screen seems to be intriguing and neat for a RPG, But I was wrong. This game is truly a basic RPG to the heart and nothing more. Nothing much in the game was really likeable in my personal opinion, but there where some aspects I did like. Some of these aspects of the game I like where the interesting character interactions that you could have with some of the characters in the story as you could choose what you could say next to the character talking to you. I also like the variety of weapons in the game because you would think for a small game, there would be no interesting weapons but there was like a sword, a bow, a dagger and more.
There where a lot of things that I didn't like about the game but I will go over the main points. A noticeable issue that anyone would dislike is how slow the game can get as while in movement, the game can get super choppy and laggy, making the game slower. Another noticeable feature that I disliked was the character design, as the characters are just modeled after Lego minifigures, literally... making the game somewhat boring in a sense. Another feature I didn't like was that the game had no storyline, and only quests, making the game very boring to play and even if there was a so claimed storyline, its a very weak one. Lastly, the movement system is something I don't like as it can glitch out and keep your character moving when you want to stop or it will make your character keep moving even though you want to go a different direction. In short, I will give this game a 4/10 due to the amount of cons then the pros but overall because of how much work this game truly needs.
Ezmore Crystals is an open world RPG game, The movement with the characters was difficult and it would have been better with the option to use WASD or arrow keys as the point and click made it difficult to get into some areas of the game. The graphics in the game were fairly decent they could have been better but if I am going for a quick easy to run game then I would say it fits that. Along with that I found the fonts hard to read and very small as well as the text boxes should have been smaller so I would say text bigger and boxes smaller. The map was also fairly difficult to read because of the fact you were not able to move it around to look for areas.
As for that I found the music in the game to be very enjoyable it fit the game and scenes very well and I throughly enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed the small cutscenes I felt they fit in very well. I also enjoyed having the text options for the character and being able to respond in that way was very fun.
Overall I believe the game could have some improvements but it was very enjoyable and engaging. 7/10
MY opinion on this game is that it is fun but has a few problems with it. A visual bug I found was if you selected an item and put it somewhere not in a slot, it would stay on the screen. Another problem is with one of the NPC’s where if you go up to him, he will say “Greetings” constantly and his texture was broken. And another guy named Dan disappeared right in front of me but that was my fault. But aside from all that the game is good. But I wasn’t paying attention at some times, and I almost died to one of those mini goblin knight things. I was also stuck in the village but that was my fault. So overall this game is good but needs a few fixes.
The theme and sounds are great. The sounds fit very well to concept of this game. But it has a lot of problem. The operability is not good. The character move to the place that I select with the mouse in the field. But, use a key (.e.g. W, A, S, D key) as many games do is better than. It's because, it doesn’t work well. The character move to the place that I don’t want. Also, the graphics are not bad. But it’s a little bit cheap looking and miscellaneous. This game doesn’t have enough description. I need more information. I couldn’t understand how to operate the character and how to complete quest. I rate this game 4/10.

I really enjoyed the map design with nice landscaping because I feel it definitely brought the game to life with the lively colours and smooth animations
Another thing that stood out to was the weapons and health potions, I really like the potion idea giving you the opportunity to play further in the game.
This problem is even worse when you either are fighting a boss or you are stuck and unable to change your angle, making you must quit or restart.
Overall Score: 7/10
Game Review – Ezmore’s Crystals
Final Score – 4/5
I rate this game 8/10.
Overall: 8/10
Overall score
9/10

I had enjoyable this game.
